TAP Culinary Arts Inc. presents the Ordinary Seaman (OS) Training Program, a is 60 hours; online foundational maritime workforce development course designed to introduce participants to the core skills, safety standards, and vessel operations necessary for entry-level employment in the maritime
industry. This program serves as a gateway for individuals seeking to launch a career in seafaring, port operations, and culinary services aboard vessels.
Through this immersive, hands-on curriculum, students will receive comprehensive instruction in seamanship fundamentals, personal safety and social responsibility, basic firefighting, first aid/CPR, and shipboard communication. Additionally, learners will gain essential soft skills such as
professionalism, team collaboration, and work readiness aligned with U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) expectations.
Participants completing this training will be prepared to seek employment as an Ordinary Seaman. The OS program is the first step in a structured maritime career pathway, with special emphasis on supporting underserved and underrepresented populations.
